【摘要】:ThisguidewillaidthepurchaseringeneratingaCTsystemspecification.Thisguidecoverstheconversionofpurchaserrsquo;requirementstosystemcomponentsthatmustoccurforausefulCTsystemspecificationtobeprepared.Additionalinformationcanbegainedindiscussionswithpotentialsuppliersorwithindependentconsultants.Thisguideisapplicabletopurchasersseekingscanservices.ThisguideisapplicabletopurchasersneedingtoprocureaCTsystemforaspecificexaminationapplication.1.1Thisguidecoversguidelinesfortranslatingapplicationrequirementsintocomputedtomography(CT)systemrequirements/specificationsandestablishesacommonterminologytoguidebothpurchaserandsupplierintheCTsystemselectionprocess.ThisguideisapplicabletothepurchaserofbothCTsystemsandscanservices.Computedtomographysystemsarecomplexinstruments,consistingofmanycomponentsthatmustcorrectlyinteractinordertoyieldimagesthatrepeatedlyreproducesatisfactoryexaminationresults.Computedtomographysystempurchasersaregenerallyconcernedwithapplicationrequirements.Computedtomographysystemsuppliersaregenerallyconcernedwiththesystemcomponentselectiontomeetthepurchaser''sperformancerequirements.Thisguideisnotintendedtobelimitingorrestrictive,butrathertoaddresstherelationshipsbetweenapplicationrequirementsandperformancespecificationsthatmustbeunderstoodandconsideredforproperCTsystemselection.1.2Computedtomography(CT)maybeusedfornewapplicationsorinplaceoffilmradiography,providedthatthecapabilitytodisclosephysicalfeaturesorindicationsthatformtheacceptance/rejectioncriteriaisfullydocumentedandavailableforreview.1.3Computedtomography(CT)systemsuseasetoftransmissionmeasurementsmadealongasetofpathsprojectedthroughtheobjectfrommanydifferentdirections.Eachofthetransmissionmeasurementswithintheseviewsisdigitizedandstoredinacomputer,wheretheyaresubsequentlyconditioned(forexample,normalizedandcorrected)andreconstructedbyoneofavarietyoftechniques.Anin-depthtreatmentofCTprinciplesisgiveninGuideE1441.1.4Computedtomography(CT),aswithconventionalradiographyandradioscopicexaminations,isbroadlyapplicabletoanymaterialorobjectthroughwhichabeamofpenetratingradiationmaybepassedanddetected,includingmetals,plastics,ceramics,metallic/nonmetalliccompositematerialandassemblies.TheprincipaladvantageofCTisthatitprovidesdensitometric(thatis,radiologicaldensityandgeometry)imagesofthincrosssectionsthroughanobject.Becauseoftheabsenceofstructuralsuperposition,imagesaremucheasiertointerpretthanconventionalradiologicalimages.ThenewpurchasercanquicklylearntoreadCTdatabecauseimagescorrespondmorecloselytothewaythehumanmindvisualizes3-Dstructuresthanconventionalprojectionradiology.Further,becauseCTimagesaredigital,theimagesmaybeenhanced,analyzed,compressed,archived,inputasdataintoperformancecalculations,comparedwithdigitaldatafromothernondestructiveevaluationmodalities,ortransmittedtootherlocationsforremoteviewing.Whilemanyofthedetailsaregenericinnature,thisguideimplicitlyassumestheuseofpenetratingradiation,specificallyXraysandgammarays.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
