【摘要】:Thetestmethodisdesignedtopredictthehightemperaturedepositformingtendenciesofanengineoil.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoscreenoilsamplesorasaqualityassurancetool.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheproceduretodeterminetheamountofdepositsformedbyautomotiveengineoilsutilizingthethermo-oxidationengineoilsimulationtest(TEOST).Aninterlaboratorystudy(seeSection17)hasdeterminedittobeapplicableovertherangefrom10to65mgtotaldeposits.Note18212;Operationalexperiencewiththetestmethodhasshownthetestmethodtobeapplicabletoengineoilshavingdepositsovertherangefrom2to180mgtotaldeposits.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.2.1Milligrams(mg),grams(g),millilitres(mL),andlitresaretheunitsprovided,becausetheyareanindustryacceptedstandard.1.2.2Exception8212;Providedpsigforinformationonlyin6.2.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
