【摘要】:Yieldmeasurementofaerosolfoamsealantsareusedtoindicatetheamountofsealantthatcanbeobtainedfromasinglecanofproduct.Theyielddoesnotpredicttheperformancecapabilityofthefoamsealantproductoritssuitabilityfortheintendedapplication.ProcedureAwasdevelopedforusewithproductsthatcanbevolumetricallymeasuredbysubmersioninwater.ProcedureBwasdevelopedforproductthatcannotbemeasuredbyusingawaterdisplacementmethod.Yieldisoftendependentonthebeadsizedispensed.Extrapolationoftestresultsusingdatameasuredforlargersizebeadstoestimatesmallersizedbeadshasshowninaccuracies.Sinceyieldwillbereportedbasedonthediameterofthecuredbead(notinitialbeadsize),theoperatorshalldeterminethenominalinitialbeadsizerequiredtoproduceaspecificnominalcuredbeaddiameter.Thisfoamcharacteristiccalledx201C;postdispensingcontractionx201D;orx201C;postdispensingexpansionx201D;isdefinedin3.1.3and3.1.4.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthelinearunitsofspecifieddiameterbeadoffoamsealantthatcanbeobtainedfromasinglecanofaerosolproduct.Four(4)cansarerequiredforeachproductdetermination.1.2Themethodisintendedtoestimatethecontentsoftheaerosolcontainer(1)forpurposesoflabelstatements,and(2)toprovidetheuserinformationneededtoestimatejobrequirements.1.3Suchfoamsealantsareusedforavarietyofenduseapplicationsintendedtoreduceairmovementinthebuildingenvelope.1.4Currentlytwomainfoamsealanttypesareapplicabletothisstandard,singlecomponentpolyurethaneandlatextypes.1.5Thereisnootherknownstandardtestmethodtomeasureaerosolfoamsealantyield.1.6ValuesarereportedinSIunitsonly.Certainapparatusandsupplyitemsarereferencedininch-poundunitsforpurchasingpurposes.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
